I was in LA for about three years, and thoroughly enjoyed how varied the news is in such a diverse city.

On one of my most memorable days, I started my morning in Beverly Hills with a story about the Golden Globe nominees for the season.  I then made my way down to South Central Los Angeles for a story that included the Mayor and a neighborhood on the mend.

Then I wrapped up my day in Westwood with a story about a visiting Foreign Minister from Israel.

I love reporting on the radio, and I look forward to every opportunity to pitch a story or take on an assignment.

These are a few of my favorite stories over the years.  The most recent are for National Public Radio.  I started filing for NPR in the last year, which was a personal achievement.

A new set of economic sanctions kicked in against Iran on October 2010.  The aim is to put pressure on the hard line Iranian government.  But they sanctions also affect a few US businesses.  This report I filed for National Public Radio examines the affects of those sanctions on a small Iranian Rug Shop in San Francisco.   Click the picture to listen, or CLICK HERE to listen on NPR’s site.

The passage of the controversial Senate Bill 1070 in Arizona has prompted undocumented immigrants to leave the state.  But according to several sources, those immigrants are not leaving back to their home countries.  This is a story I filed for National Public Radio about New Mexico becoming a new destination for immigrants.  You can listen to the story by clicking the picture, or CLICK HERE to listen on NPR’s Hope Page.

During the Proposition 8 Federal Trial I provided daily coverage for Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.

My favorite part of working for KFWB News 980 in Los Angeles was the freedom my managers gave me to explore the nooks and crannies of the city.

I was awarded a Best Business News Reporting Golden Mic for this story about a longtime local market closing down.
